This is probably one of my favourite images of Kanjani8 - it's fun and crazy and has nice pastel 'happy' colours, which totally fits them.
They're loud, funny and crazy Kansai kids and I like them for that. They don't try to be sexy or cool, but they just stay the way they are. Sometimes the noise level is almost deafening though (like their Utaban appearances) - it's like seven Aiba Masakis talking all at once. XD Okay, two of them are quieter than the rest, but you get what I mean. hehe (If I was to assign each Arashi member to a different JE group, this would totally be Aiba's place! I can just picture him making them take part in Aibaland now...)
I told snoew the other day to imagine if Kanjani8 appeared on Arashi's Shukudaikun. (Logistically unfeasible, I know. It'd be a bit hard to fit 7 Kanjani8 + 5 Arashi + 1 Ogu-san on that small stage. :P ) We both agreed that it'd be Aiba Heaven and his 'tension' would go sky-high.
It would probably be extremely difficult to control them, I think. Aiba, Yokoyama, Yasuda, Murakami (a.k.a. Hina), Subaru and Maruyama would just go on and on like bullet trains whilst MatsuJun has a comfortable chat with Nishikido and Ohkura could sit with Ohno and watch in amused silence. Sho would be doing his best to get the situation in hand and not get carried away by the insanity around him. And Nino... Er, frankly I don't know what Nino would do. lol
K8 also seems to have some of the closest in-group ties that I've seen and heard of in JE. On the Kinki Kids' show, Nishikido attributed their good friendship to how they always have a celebration for everyone's birthday. Awww... :D I think it probably has to do with how they've been together in the Kansai Jrs arm of JE for so long prior to being Kanjani8 - even on the J3Kansai shows from 2002 (currently being subbed by eitokickass) they're fun to watch together.
And the Kansai-ben is just... so much fun to listen to! (Even though it means I have to find subbed vids to appreciate their jokes properly.) In the first Shounen Club in Osaka episode, when Koyama asked them what they liked about Osaka, it was just so fascinating to hear Ryo and Ohkura speak in such... absolute Kansai-ben. In other videos I find that those two don't sound as strongly "Kansai" as the others. Yasu, Yoko, Baru and Hina are usually the most evidently "Kansai." ahah
Anyway, few comments on some of my favourite K8-ers.
Nishikido Ryo. Ah, Ryo-chan. The one who thinks it both a blessing and a curse to be in Kanjani8 because people automatically think you're humorous. It's good because people will assume that he's funny even though he's not and is bad at ad-libbing. At the same time it's bad because people will assume that he's funny even though he's not - they'll expect a whole bunch of jokes and he might not always be able to deliver. kawaisou... daijoubu, ryo-chan! You're great as you are. :D
Although I think his looks fit in better with NEWS, I prefer him a lot more in Kanjani8. (NEWS fans, don't kill me! ^^ ) He seems to laugh and grin a lot more with them - or maybe I'm imagining it. ;P
Yokoyama Yuu. For entertainment value, definitely my favourite in K8. (For looks it'd be Ohkura and Ryo.) Right now I'm quite convinced that Yoko is the most hilarious and comedic personality in JE. In almost every K8 video I've seen, Yoko rarely fails to crack me up. He's such a natural boke. XD It's hard to top ringing the doorbell by mistake when you mean to sneak quietly into a group member's hotel room for a surprise wake-up call. XDD
He's also usually the one exposing embarrassing things about the others - like how Hina has gone through four cars already (he seems to bring this up a lot, for some reason) and how Baru has "little bags inside other bags" containing vitamins and whatnot, or how Yasu wanted to join him in the shower on one of their tours and asked in a really sweet voice... I wonder if the others ever feel like taping his mouth shut. ahahah
Ohkura Tadayoshi. Tacchon! I think he's the quietest member of K8... Not as laugh-out-loud-funny as most of the others, but he has his moments. But at least he's one of the better-looking members of the group, if not the best-looking. ^^ (And he's my age, the youngest in the group. Really, why are there barely any guys my age here in my country who look as good as Tacchon or Shirota Yuu?? XP )
He once said on Utaban that his nicknames were things like "Hotel Ohkura" (what??) and "Prime Minister Ohkura" - I have no idea why he gets such strange nicknames, but the result was that Nakai and Ishibashi stuck the name "Johnny Ohkura" on him, after Johnny Kitagawa. hahahaha
Yasuda Shota. Finally, someone with more alarming fashion sense than MatsuJun. And more consistently alarming at that. But horrifying fashion or no, Yasu is another funny one. And a very easy one to make fun of, thanks to his fashion (well, hey, the guy likes to wear skirts - is that not just asking for it? haha) and his love of using 'emoticons' when sending text messages. He argues that he doesn't want people to misunderstand him and think he's angry. I understand that, Yasu-kun, but inserting little penguin icons after a something as simple as "ohayo" is a bit much if you do it all the time. XDD
Nakai totally had a field day with Yasu the first and second time K8 appeared on Utaban. He asked if Yasu was gay, said that the only ones he knew who wore rings on their pinky fingers were Osugi and Piiko (gay fashion critics), told him that his very hand gestures were gay, exclaimed that Yasu was like a one-man circus act and inquired - with quite a serious face - which of his fellow Eito members he liked best (his answer was Baru). ROFL.

K8 is now officially my third favourite JE group, after Arashi and V6. Thus I have conferred upon them the honour of my time and effort in wallpapers. (LOL.) Expect K8 wallpapers from me in the future! =D

UPDATE, 1.10AM: Aaaah yabai. I just found an abundance of subbed Janiben and other subbed K8 videos over at je_mix_fansubs. I am so going to be short of space to store all the videos and time to watch them all. (I already have a huge backlog of Arashi vids to see. And a couple of V6 ones too. ;__; )
EDIT, 9.40AM: STUPID LJ CODES. I just looked at my entry after replying comments and realised that one whole section had gone missing. When I clicked Edit Entry, I found that the text is still there but the LJ-cut screwed it up. X( Fixed it already, but that means those few paragraphs were wasted earlier. STUPID LJ CODES.
