Jun and Junichi

elenniel... I really hate that I don't have my usual Internet connection at home.
Wanted to post this yesterday night, but the line just wouldn't cooperate at all. >.< Right now I'm wondering if posting now is going to be any use, since I have the impression that if I post in the morning, it'll be lost in the mounds of other posts that come later on everyone's friends lists. bleh. haha
The other day, someone said that she couldn't remember what Okada looked like at all every time I mentioned him, so I directed her to a couple of pics. After seeing them, she said, "I think I know why you like him... He's got the 'Jun-ish' look." So in my boredom on Saturday night, I decided to go through my insane amount of Arashi scans and my not-so-insane amount of V6 scans and do a little comparison of pics. It was DIFFICULT. MatsuJun tends to pose like... Well, you know how he poses. Okada, on the other hand, is much more subtle and not so "out there." Also, I have much, much less pics of Okada than of Jun. I'm not sure if the total of Okada pics I have even reaches a third of my Jun pics.
Given that imbalanced total, I had to start looking from the Okada pics and find Jun counterparts with as similar an angle and pose as I could find. I had a lot of instances where I went Aaaah I've seen a pose like this before! but when I went to the Arashi/Jun folders, I couldn't find the pic I was thinking of. -__-"
(Initially I wanted to add Takki into the comparison as well since, as I've discussed with skyura before, I actually think Takki and Okada are better-looking than MatsuJun to begin with. But then, given that I have even less Takki pics than Okada pics... I decided not to waste my time. :P )
Here we go, then:
Conclusion? They're both good-looking. XD

Okay, okay... Hmm... Well, I personally think that (in photos), Okada has a stronger profile and a clearer and more 'honest' gaze. Jun has a more sultry(?) look in his eyes and somewhat softer features. After trawling through allllll my scans (and getting utterly confused by different pictures in the process), I think that Okada is more photogenic. But in certain shots, when Jun has his moments, he totally outshines Okada.
Of course, on screen and on stage, they're very different. Okada's more on the quiet side - more Ohno-like in character. MatsuJun knows how to work a crowd better (or so it seems - I haven't seen Okada on stage very much, honestly ^^ ) and has more 'personality.'
Speaking of stage... And since were on this whole comparison of MatsuJun and Okada...
I watched the subbed vid of Okada's birthday surprise at the last show of the end of the Voyager concert tour. And when V6 sang "Happy Birthday" to him, they projected the lyrics on screen so that the audience could sing along and there'd be no confusion about the name to use... And I felt my face twist into an absolutely bemused and "really?" expression when they sang, "Happy birthday, dear JUN-CHANNN..."
(No, the kanji for "jun" in Junichi is totally different from MatsuJun's, but still.......)
