The Wall Crash Game
Jun. 2nd, 2008 03:00 amI figured I needed to get rid of the depressing cloud that's hung over my LJ over the past day or two, so I was mulling over what to flail about this time and eventually decided to do my long-overdue post on the Tokyo Friend Park 2 Wall Crash game.
I've seen four of them so far - Yamada Tarou Monogatari cast (Sho & Nino), Arashi, Utahime cast (Nagase, Aibu Saki & Tacchon) and Kisarazu Cat's Eye cast (Okada, Sho, Tsukamoto Takashi, Sato Ryuta and Okada Yoshinori).
(For the uninitiated, the Wall Crash game basically involves players dressed in suits with velcro gloves taking turns to throw themselves at a wall and see how high they can plaster themselves. If at least one person on team can clear the wall - i.e. reach the highest section - or if the team reaches the set point goal, the team will pass the game.)
Most of the JE guys seem to be able to scrape through the game - at least one fella will generally manage to clear it.
So here are screencaps from three of those episodes that I've seen (was too lazy to 'cap the Yamada Tarou cast appearance):
Arashi
Kudos to Nino for managing to clear the wall on Arashi's behalf. Being on the small side has its advantages.

Sho's attempt.

I found it funny how MatsuJun called Sho "Mr Friend Park" and Sho agreed with him: "Ya, I'm Mr Friend Park!" (by virtue of having appeared on TFP so many times. hahah!) Anyway, that was a pretty good jump, Sho-chan! :Db
MatsuJun on a wall.

Not bad, it was a "fail" (hand in the NG zone), but could have been worse - like if he fell off the wall. ^^
Ohno

... All I can say is, "Kinda brought that on yourself, didn't you, Riida?" (He did say he was aiming for "10 points"...)
Aiba

Mm.. Well. He looked cute trying. ^^;
Utahime cast
And following Aiba-chan, here's Ohkura trying his luck at it.

Tacchon tried. He really did.

They gave him a second try later, but that more or less ended the same way too. ^^; He got higher up, but didn't get a good grip and kind of rolled off the wall...
*comforts Tacchon*
Nagase

I'm not surprised he cleared it. I always expect TOKIO's members to excel at anything athletic. They certainly look like they should. :P (Except Joshima maybe. heh)
Kisarazu Cat's Eye
Sho's first time on TFP2 (I think) and his first try at the Wall Crash game.

I think before he jumped, the hosts asked him something about what sport he's good at. Football, he replied, and then added, "But that has absolutely nothing to do with [this game]!" LOL. True, Sho.
Actually, Sho's surprisingly not bad at this. He gets pretty high up on the wall.
And finally, Okada Junichi, with an amazingly perfect execution of this game. o_O

It was seriously good. So well done that even the hosts looked stunned by it. And he made it look so easy! The movements were incredibly smooth...
I think the KCE cast episode was the first time I saw TFP2. Or maybe second time; I can't really recall. But I hadn't watched KCE at the time, and my interest in V6 went only as far as some of their songs so Okada made no particular impression on me. I watched it just for Sho - and pretty much skipped over most of the other parts. :P
But I watched this ep again after seeing Arashi's appearance on TFP2 - I wanted to compare Sho's performances on the show. Still hadn't seen KCE, but had a slightly stronger interest in V6 already. This time I noticed Okada. And the jump was simply astounding. After seeing Arashi basically flop at it (besides Nino), this was a real surprise. I remember being all, "Oh my goodness. That. Was. Perfect." 0__0
Okada's reaction immediately after sticking himself to the wall in a near-perfect X-shape amused and intrigued me too. Most people turn around (or as far as they can turn their heads) and go "Yayyyy" or start laughing or something hyper. Not him.

All he did was turn to one side and calmly peer over his arm - just placidly hanging there as though clearing the game with a practically flawless jump was no big deal.
But once he got back to the ground he slid back into his "Bussan" character mode, and high-fived all the others. XD
(For some reason, all of a sudden I wish I could see Kanjani8 try this. LOL. I imagine it'd be twice as hilarious as any other group trying it. Tacchon might not want to, though. eheh )

The KCE cast are so incredibly hyper! ahaha.. It's like they all turn their hyperness up several levels whenever they appear together.
Genki-ness is good - and you're welcome! hehe

Date: 2008-06-01 10:02 pm (UTC)I love how Tacchon fails so much at things athletic related... XD

They are good at bowling ROFL Have you seen that? The Heyx3 bowling competition with V6 and TOKIO.
For some reason, all of a sudden I wish I could see Kanjani8 try this. LOL. I imagine it'd be twice as hilarious as any other group trying it. Tacchon might not want to, though. eheh
We can keep hoping that comes true. I would so love to watch them try. And yes theirs would be even more hilarious. I'm already imagining it LOL

Date: 2008-06-02 02:33 am (UTC)Yuppp! I've seen that bowling competition! They were hilarious XD I was so tickled that Taichi and Okada paired together (yay for favourites) - but then I discovered Okada sucks at bowling. LOL.
I have a feeling Yasu would be pretty good at the Wall Crash. Dunno about the rest of K8 though :P

Date: 2008-06-03 01:58 am (UTC)HAHA Okada I think was lost that day HAHA I can't believe they actually gave away his "antique" wood. ROFL
I sure would love to see them on that show. It would be the best!

Date: 2008-06-03 02:49 am (UTC)I'm really not sure if Okada was just lost on that day or if he's just plain bad at it. Inclined to think the latter though - he goes out so little that it's likely he's hardly bowled before. ahahaha
The antique wod! LOL That was just one big joke in itself XDD "You should send in for it too!"

Date: 2008-06-02 02:43 am (UTC)It was cute! hehe
(I don't think it was really "fail" though. He didn't fall off, after all ^^; )
As for Okada... Yes, odd skill indeed. And impressive - in a weird way. I put it down to good athletic ability (except when it comes to bowling XD )

Date: 2008-06-02 03:24 am (UTC)I think I've seen Takki and the cast of Satomi Hakkenden do this before. I don't remember where my file is. (I do remember rofloling and squealing over Yamashita Shoon like a pig though. I don't care if he's younger than me) This game always gives me the laughs!

Date: 2008-06-02 04:15 am (UTC)Takki? LOL. How did he fare at this?

Date: 2008-06-03 02:12 am (UTC)Gah! Where the hell is that vid?!?!? I'll cap Takki's for you if I find it.

Date: 2008-06-03 02:46 am (UTC)Yea, if you ever find it, do send me caps! I'm curious to know how Takki managed XD

Date: 2008-06-04 01:02 am (UTC)OH GAD. THIS IS A LOT OF CAPS!!! Enough to make a very detailed animated GIF. If you click the forward button fast enough, it's almost like the video (watch Takki wobble after he gets back down).

Date: 2011-02-10 01:53 pm (UTC)Okada is surprisingly very good at TFP...I watched one episode where they were playing the musical drumming game and he completely nailed it!

Date: 2011-02-12 11:21 am (UTC)Kanjani 8 would make TFP completele cracktastic! I can't wait for them to promote a dvd or something so all of them can be on!
Ryo-chan and Tacchon have already been on though, but I wanna see Yoko's chin jutting out! <3
