GASP. Can it be? tuesday_756 and elenniel have produced a fansub after a 3-year hiatus! :3



This was too funny to not sub xD I chuckled at how strangely revealing their responses in the first part are. Baru just laughs, Tacchon is concerned about looking too manly, Ryo is apprehensive, Yoko is resigned to it (and I have a feeling this is the closest we'll get to seeing Yoko's real personality on screen), Yasu is worried about looking cute, Hina is all positivity... Maru just talks about Hina. I almost wish they'd chosen some other soundbite of Maru's to use in this, because he's the only one talking about someone else.

Things to note:
- The voiceover for the commercial says "Hajimaru yo, Candy Soda!" which if literally translated would be "It's starting - Candy Soda!" It sounded weird and awkward so we decided to make a translation decision in favour of context and use "Let's play" instead of "It's starting".
- tuesday_756 wasn't sure if Ryo's line somewhere in the middle was referring to the whole cross-dressing thing or the Candy Soda game itself. I'm quite convinced he was referring to the former xD (so if you disagree with that, please direct [polite] objections to me, and not the awesome translator)

It can be tricky sometimes, this translating thing. And it can be so difficult to get the nuance right! I appreciate the support :)
(Also, wow, I'm surprised to see people who used to comment on my older translation/sub/wallpaper posts commenting here now - like you! I've been sooo inactive on LJ in the past couple of years, and LJ activity overall has died down to the point that I thought most people have just left. ^^; )

Ooooh, you remember me?! That's amazing! When I saw your name I thought, "I've seen her around befo– oh right, the wallpaper girl!", but the most you have seen of me must be one or two very old comments, so yeah, I'm impressed.

As far as I know, most people have left, but over the last couple of months I've met a few lone survivers staggering across the wasteland. I don't know what changed but you're the third olden days Kanjani fan I've gotten into a conversation with. I'm starting to think we're just scattered, not gone.
